Surface Clutter Policy

To ensure the highest quality cleaning service and to respect your personal belongings, our cleaning team will only clean and wipe down surfaces that are free of clutter.

  • Cluttered Surfaces: We do not move or organize personal items, including but not limited to mail, paperwork, decorations, dishes, or personal belongings.
  • Mail & Important Documents: For your privacy and protection, we will not touch, move, or reorganize any mail, paperwork, or documents to clean underneath.
  • Preparing for Cleaning: If you would like a surface (such as countertops, tables, or desks) cleaned, please ensure that it is cleared prior to our arrival.
  • Skipped Areas: If a surface is cluttered at the time of cleaning, it will be skipped.

This policy helps us provide efficient, consistent service while protecting your belongings and privacy.

First-Time Cleaning Policy

First-time cleanings require additional time and attention due to built-up dirt, grime, and areas that haven't been professionally cleaned before. To ensure we can provide the thorough, detailed service your home deserves, we apply a first-time cleaning surcharge.

  • Pricing: First-time cleanings are priced 25-30% higher than our standard maintenance cleaning rates.
  • Why the Difference: Initial cleanings require extra time for deep scrubbing, removing built-up residue, and establishing our cleaning standards throughout your home.
  • Detailed Attention: We focus on areas that may have been neglected, including baseboards, light fixtures, and detailed surfaces that need extra care.
  • Setting the Standard: This comprehensive first cleaning sets the foundation for efficient maintenance cleanings going forward.
  • Ongoing Service: After your first cleaning, all subsequent regular maintenance cleanings will be at our standard rates.

We believe in transparency in our pricing and want to ensure you receive exceptional value for the detailed service your home receives.

Company Policies

  • Clutter-Free Surfaces: Surfaces must be free of clutter to be cleaned. We do not move mail, paperwork, or personal belongings.
  • Closed Door Policy: For your privacy, we will not enter or clean any room with a closed door. If you would like a room cleaned, please leave the door open before your scheduled service.
  • Under Furniture Policy: Stress-Less Cleaning Co. will vacuum or sweep under beds, couches, and furniture that has at least 3–4 inches of clearance and can be reached with standard cleaning tools. We will not move heavy furniture (such as bed frames, dressers, or sofas) for liability and safety reasons.
  • Dusting Policy: Dusting of reachable shelves and décor is included in standard cleaning, provided the surfaces are free of excessive clutter or fragile items. Deep cleaning includes high shelves or those requiring item removal.
  • Décor and Shelf Cleaning Policy: When cleaning shelves with many decorations, standard cleaning includes light dusting around and between items without moving them. Deep cleaning includes carefully removing items, cleaning the shelves and décor individually, and returning them neatly. Fragile or cluttered areas are only fully handled if the client requests and approves it in advance.
  • Breakage and Damage Policy: Accidents can occasionally happen despite great care. If an item is broken or damaged during cleaning, it must be reported to the client immediately. Megan's Cleaning Services will review each situation and may offer reimbursement or replacement for items damaged due to cleaner negligence, up to a reasonable value. Megan's Cleaning Services is not responsible for items that are unstable, not properly secured, or of sentimental value.
  • Add-Ons: Specialty items (such as baseboards, inside appliances, or ceiling fans) are considered add-ons or part of deep cleaning.

Client Presence Policy

At Stress-Less Cleaning LLC, we understand that some clients prefer to be home during their cleaning service, while others choose to be away. Either option is perfectly fine! To ensure a smooth and efficient cleaning experience, we ask that clients who choose to remain home follow the guidelines below:

  • Working Freely: If you choose to be home during your cleaning, please allow our team to work freely without interruption. This helps us complete your service efficiently and maintain our cleaning standards.
  • Stay Clear of Active Areas: We kindly ask that you stay out of areas being actively cleaned until the team has finished and all floors or surfaces are dry.
  • Safety First: For safety, please keep pets and children away from cleaning areas and equipment.
  • Special Requests: If you have any special requests or instructions, please share them before the cleaning begins, so our team can plan accordingly.
  • Focus and Efficiency: To ensure focus and timeliness, our cleaners are not able to engage in extended conversation while working.
